Spearpoint 1943 Preorders

La Collins Epic Wargames ha aperto i preordini per Spearpoint 1943, un veloce cardgame che permetterà di riprodurre scontri della Seconda Guerra Mondiale a livello di squadra e singolo tank in rapide partite della durata di 30-40 minuti. Il gioco, che fa parte della serie già inaugurata dal gioco demo “Italian Campaign Introduction”, sarà disponibile con uno sconto del 20% sul prezzo finale di 29,95$ (ovvero 24$) solo per chi preordina tramite il sito ufficiale.

Collins Epic Wargames has finally opened the preorders for Spearpoint 1943, a fast cardgame that will allow you to replay fast WWII battles at squad infantry / single tank level that will take only 30-40 minutes. The game, part of the Frontline General series already introduced by the demo game “Italian Campaign Introduction”, will be available with a 20% discount on the final price of 29.95$ only for the ones that will preorder now from the  ufficial webpage.

Victrix 54mm British Napoleonic – English

Victrix has just announced the upcoming release of the first box in their new 54mm (1/32) plastic Napoleonic Miniatures. The first set is the “54mm British Napoleonic Peninsular Infantry Flank Companies” and it will contain 16 miniatures fully customizable for just 19,95 pounds. As said each miniature will come with a body and a set of heads, arms (with various equipment) and backpack, this will allow various combinations of pose and characters (like officers, drummers, sergeants and linemen).

Victrix has also announced that after the first box a special accessories set will be released to expand the possibilities of the first box customizations.

Victrix 54mm British Napoleonic – Italiano

La Victrix ha annunciato l’imminente uscita di un primo box di miniature in plastica in scala 1/32 (54mm) dedicate al periodo Napoleonico. Il primo set è il “54mm British Napoleonic Peninsular Infantry Flank Companies” e conterrà ben 16 miniature completamente e liberamente assemblabili al prezzo di 19,95 sterline. Come detto quindi ogni pezzo sarà composto da busto braccia (con differenti pose e armamenti) zaino e testa e permetterà di realizzare ufficiali, tamburini, sergenti e uomini di linea.

La Victrix ha già previsto come prossima uscita per novembre un set di accessori complementare al primo box.

Nuts! Released

E’ disponibile (come sempre in formato cartaceo e in pdf) la seconda edizione di Nuts!, il regolamento della Two Hour Wargames dedicato alla Seconda Guerra Mondiale. La nuova edizione allineata alle ultime revisioni del Reaction System della THW è il primo di una serie di volumi (gratuiti e a pagamento) che andrà a coprire tutta la durata del conflitto, tutti gli eserciti e tutti gli scenari di guerra. Nel volume base saranno disponibili tutte le informazioni relative al ‘44. Altra interessante novità di questa nuova edizione riguarda il gioco in solitario, studiato non solo per il singolo giocatore ma anche per permettere a più giocatori di giocare assieme contro il sistema. E’ presente anche un sistema di campagna interattivo che muta lo svolgersi delle missioni a seconda dei risultati delle battaglie.

It’s finally available (as usual in both printed and pdf formats) the second edition of Nuts!, the ruleset from Two Hour Wargames based on the WW2. The new edition rules are alligned to the latest revision of the Reaction System by THW and it’s the first book of a serie that will cover all the years of war, all the armies and scenarios of the conflict. In the base ruleset will be available the info about the ‘44. Other interesting feature is the solo game that will cover not only the single player games but also the possibility for more players to fight together against the rule system. It’s also available a campaign system that will change reflecting the results of the battles played.

Warmachine MkII – Quick Start Rules

Sul sito della Privateer Press è stato pubblicato il pdf delle regole introduttive alla nuova edizione del regolamento di Warmachine (la seconda edizione definita MkII). E’ anche disponibile un pdf con le card relative ai quattro battle box. Una gustosa preview in attesa della release prevista per il 2010.

Arcane Legions – GenCon video Demo

The Screaming Apha ha publicato un interessante video con una piccola demo dell’ormai prossimo Arcane Legions. In aggiunta è presente anche un altro video nel quale viene spiegato l’innovativo modello di vendita del prodotto della Wells Expeditions. In pratica saranno disponibili starter pack per i tre schieramenti ed una serie di units box e booster specifici per ogni armata. Questi booster avranno si un contenuto casuale ma sempre relativo all’armata scelta, questo per ridurre al minimo il numero di pezzi inutilizzati che invece solitamente si ritrovano i giocatori di giochi collezionabili.

The Screaming Apha website has released an interesting video with a small demo about the basic mechanics of the upcoming Arcane Legions. With this video as been released also an video interview in which the Wells Expeditions owner explains the new business method that they will follow for the game. The gamer will be able to get a starter army pack for each faction available and then it will be possible to expand the army buying units box and booster that will still contain random miniatures but all releated to the choosen faction, this in order to limit the number of useless minis that a collectible minis gamer usually finds in other games.

Battle Chronicler

In occasione della release dell’ultima versione (0.5.1) vi segnalo l’ottimo Battle Chronicler, uno di quei tool che non dovrebbe mai mancare nel pc di tutti i wargamers.

Battle Chronicler consente di ricreare con una comoda interfaccia grafica WYSWYG dei battle report stupendi. Il tool consente di inserire la descrizione dello scenario, degli eserciti e delle unità convolte. Una descrizione turno per turno degli eventi e dei movimenti delle unità che vengono indicate con precisione fino al singolo pezzo (cosi da identificare chiaramente leader e pezzi speciali). Il tutto poi facilmente esportabile in formato html corredato da jpg, cosi da poter integrare rapidamente i propri report su qualsiasi sito web.

Battle Chronicler tool allows you to recreate with a nice WYSWYG interface gorgeous battle reports. You can insert scenario description, units and army lists. With BC you can create turn by turn sequences with units movements and actions, the units will be covered to single piece precision to show leaders and special models. Recensione – Mutants and Death Ray Guns

Con discreto ritardo ma con molto piacere mi accingo a scrivere una breve recensione dell’ultimo lavoro di Andrea Sfiligoi e della sua Ganesha Games: Mutants and Death Ray Guns. Il manuale in questione è un regolamento skirmish fast di ambientazione fantastico-fantascientifica. Come sempre ringrazio Andrea per il supporto e gli mando il mio “in bocca al lupo” per gli imminenti Origins Awards ai quali è stato nominato il suo primo regolamento Songs of Blade and Heroes (il Canto degli Eroi).
