Warmachine MkII – Quick Start Rules

Sul sito della Privateer Press è stato pubblicato il pdf delle regole introduttive alla nuova edizione del regolamento di Warmachine (la seconda edizione definita MkII). E’ anche disponibile un pdf con le card relative ai quattro battle box. Una gustosa preview in attesa della release prevista per il 2010.

On the Privateer Press website it’s now available a pdf with the quickstart rules of the new edition of the Warmachine rules (the second edition called MkII). Also available a pdf with the stats card for all the four battle boxes. A nice preview waiting for the 2010 release.

Arcane Legions – GenCon video Demo

The Screaming Apha ha publicato un interessante video con una piccola demo dell’ormai prossimo Arcane Legions. In aggiunta è presente anche un altro video nel quale viene spiegato l’innovativo modello di vendita del prodotto della Wells Expeditions. In pratica saranno disponibili starter pack per i tre schieramenti ed una serie di units box e booster specifici per ogni armata. Questi booster avranno si un contenuto casuale ma sempre relativo all’armata scelta, questo per ridurre al minimo il numero di pezzi inutilizzati che invece solitamente si ritrovano i giocatori di giochi collezionabili.

The Screaming Apha website has released an interesting video with a small demo about the basic mechanics of the upcoming Arcane Legions. With this video as been released also an video interview in which the Wells Expeditions owner explains the new business method that they will follow for the game. The gamer will be able to get a starter army pack for each faction available and then it will be possible to expand the army buying units box and booster that will still contain random miniatures but all releated to the choosen faction, this in order to limit the number of useless minis that a collectible minis gamer usually finds in other games.

Review – Song of Gold and Darkness

With a really big delay due to some personal problems, here is the review of the first supplement to Song of Blades and Heroes produced by Andrea Sfiligoi and his Ganesha Games . As usual first I’ve to say thanks to Andrea for the support.

Con grave ritardo pubblico la recensione del primo supplemento di Song of Blades and Heroes (Il Canto degli Eroi) prodotto dalla Ganesha Games di Andrea Sfiligoi. Come sempre mando un dovuto ringraziamento all’autore per il supporto fornitomi.

Mutants and Death Ray Guns

Da qualche giorno è disponibile il nuovo regolamento della Ganesha Games “Mutants and Death Ray Guns”, uno skirmish fantascientifico che strizza l’occhio ai film fantascientifici di serie B (come ben si intuisce dal titolo). L’ambientazione infatti è quella di un mondo post-atomico dove nuove razze, alieni e mutanti si affrontano per la sopravvivenza.

I meccanismi base sono gli stessi del precendente “Song of Blades and Heroes” (di cui potete leggere una mia recensione qui) ovviamente ridisegnati per il genere fantascientifico. Uno skirmish fast per un numero ridotto di miniature che comprende 5 razze base (con 40 personaggi pregenerati), regole per le mutazioni mentali e fisiche oltre alle necessarie regole per le armi ed attrezzature futuristiche ed un sistema di mini campagne. ll tutto come sempre disponibile in versione cartacea o in pdf a soli 8$.

Is out the new rulebook from Ganesha Games “Mutants and Death Ray Guns”, a scifi skirmish set with a B movie flavour (as you can get from the title). The setting is a post-holocaust world where mutants, new races and aliens fight for survival and supremacy.

The basic rules are the same of Song of Blades and Heroes” (of which you can read my review here) obviously redesigned and adapted to the scifi. A Fast Skirmish for small groups of minis with 5 races (and 40 pregenerated characters), rules for phisical and mental mutations, futuristic weapons and equipment and a small campaign system. All as usual available in printed format or in pdf for 8$.

Wargames Journal News

Finalmente dopo un periodo di blackout il sito del Wargames Journal è tornato online in versione rinnovata. In attesa del primo numero della nuova serie della rivista interamente in formato elettronico, sul sito sono disponibili vari articoli in formato html e pdf ed i sei numeri della primissima edizione in pdf della rivista.

The Wargames Journal website is back online with a renewed version. Still waiting for the first issue of the new pdf magazine edition, on the webpage you can still find many wargaming articles in html and pdf format and also the first 6 pdf issues of the original first edition of the magazine.

Song of Blades and Heroes

As announced and a bit late here is my review of “Song of Blades and Heroes”. The volume is a new fast and simple (Beer and Pretzels style) fantasy skirmish ruleset, the first product of the newborn Ganesha Games created by the italian illustrator Andrea Sfiligoi, to whom I sent a big thanks for supporting this review.

Il Canto degli Eroi – Recensione

Come preannunciato e con leggero e colpevole ritardo eccovi la mia recensione de “Il Canto degli Eroi” (conosciuto come “Song of Blades and Heroes” nella sua versione in lingua Inglese). Il volume in questione è un regolamento per schermaglie fantasy molto semplice ed immediato ed è anche il primo prodotto della neonata Ganesha Games dell’italiano Andrea Sfiligoi, cui vanno i miei ringraziamenti per il supporto a questa recensione.

La Ganesha Games ha annunciato la data di pubblicazione definitiva per “Song of Gold and Darkness”, prima espansione per “Il Canto degli Eroi/Song of Blades and Heroes” (di cui è in arrivo una mia review). La data è il 5 Settembre prossimo e l’autore ha rivelato anche alcuni dei contenuti:

• Regole speciali per i dungeon e per il gioco in solitario
• Regole per Necromanti, Stregoni ed Evocatori
• Nuove regole speciali per i propri modelli ed avanzamenti per le warband
