Warlord Games and Salute 2008

La Warlord Games sarà a Salute 2008 ed ha annunciato il suo programma per lo show. Ogni visitatore potrà ricevere in omaggio uno sprue demo contenente un legionario romano estratto dal box di prossima uscita semplicemente iscrivendosi alla newsletter. Sempre iscrivendosi alla newsletter o preordinando il box in uscita sarà possibile ottenere dei ticket che garantiranno la partecipazione alla lotteria che consegnerà come premio il dipinto originale realizzato per la cover del primo box della Warlord Games. Sempre alla fiera sarà possibile assistere ad una demo organizzata dal famoso Rick Priestley del primo sistema di gioco in produzione denominato Black Powder (dedicato al periodo dal 1700 al 1900). Ovviamente sarà possibile dare un occhio in anteprima ad alcuni modelli di Romani e Celti in produzione.

Warlord Games has announced its special program for Salute 2008. Each visitor will be able to get a special demo sprue with one of the Legionaries from the upcoming boxed set by simply subscribing the newsletter. Also with the newsletter subscription or preordering the first box you’ll be able to get a special ticket for the lottery that will assign as special prize the original artwork for the legionaries boxed set. Always at the Warlord Games will be presented a demo held by Rick Priestley about the upcoming gaming system Black Powder (for the 1700/1900) and will be available various previews of the Romans and Celts miniatures.

Nexus Games: Battles of Napoleon

Novità in arrivo da parte della Italianissima Nexus Games. Dopo il successo internazionale di Wings of War è in uscita una nuova serie intitolata Battles of Napoleon che come ovvio si baserà sul periodo Napoleonico. Ogni set sarà un gioco a se stante per 2 giocatori, ma sarà possibile comporre più set. Il gioco è principalmente un boardgame con meccaniche vicine al wargame 3d e conterrà centinaia di miniature in scala 1/72 e mappe modulari. Decisamente un altro prodotto interessante da tenere d’occhio, il primo set Battles of Napoleon: The Eagle and The Lion è previsto in uscita per il prossimo Giugno. News from the Nexus Games. After the big success of Wings of War and it’s miniature serie it’s coming out a new serie named Battles of Napoleon, which of course will be inspired by the Napoleonic Wars. Each set will be a standalone 2 player game but you’ll be able to connect different sets for bigger games. The game is mainly a boardgame with many influences from 3d wargames, each set will contain hundreds of plastic 1/72 miniatures and modular maps. We’ll keep an eye on this since the first set Battles of Napoleon: The Eagle and The Lion is scheduled to hit the stores on the next June. Valiant Miniatures GI Sprue Photos

Ormai è imminente l’uscita del nuovo box della Valiant Miniatures e finalmente sul sito ufficiale sono disponibili le foto degli sprue e la loro composizione. Ogni sprue contiene 16 miniature con pose variabili ed una completa serie di braccia, armi e teste aggiuntive per variare la composizione delle proprie truppe. Oltre alla fanteria base, con i 4 sprue contenuti nei box sarà possibile ottenere 4 operatori radio, 4 MG, 4 Mortai e fino ad 8 Bazooka. Davvero belle le pose, molto più dinamiche di quelle presenti nei primi due set Valiant.

It’s almost release time for the new Valiant Miniatures box and finally on the official homepage we can have a look at the sprue composition. Each sprue has 16 miniatures with different poses and a complete extra serie of arms, weapons and heads that can be used to customize each soldier. Apart from the standard GI with the 4 sprues that come from the box you can obtain up to 4 Radio operator, 4 MG, 4 Mortars and 8 Bazooka. Really cool the poses of the miniatures, much more dinamic that the ones from the first Valiant Sets.

Review – Song of Gold and Darkness

With a really big delay due to some personal problems, here is the review of the first supplement to Song of Blades and Heroes produced by Andrea Sfiligoi and his Ganesha Games . As usual first I’ve to say thanks to Andrea for the support.

Con grave ritardo pubblico la recensione del primo supplemento di Song of Blades and Heroes (Il Canto degli Eroi) prodotto dalla Ganesha Games di Andrea Sfiligoi. Come sempre mando un dovuto ringraziamento all’autore per il supporto fornitomi.

Perry ACW Plastics

La prima ondata di box ACW in plastica della Perry Miniatures è stata realizzata (in uno speciale colore Blue “Airfix”) e sarà disponibile in anteprima a Salute. In seguito sarà possibile acquistare il box direttamente tramite la Perry Miniatures. Il box in questione contiene ben 36 miniature della ACW, metà in formazione e metà in posa skirmish. Negli sprue saranno disponibili gli accessori per realizzare il gruppo di comando ed una doppia serie di berretti. Questo perchè ogni box potrà essere cosi utilizzato indifferentemente per realizzare soldati Confederati o Unionisti. Il prezzo del box è di 12£ ed include anche un kit di bandiere ed un miniregolamento.

The first batch of ACW Plastic box from Perry Miniatures is out (in a special “Airfix” Blue) and will be available as a preview at Salute. After you’ll be able to buy them directly from Perry site. In the box 36 plastic miniatures for ACW, half in standing pose and half skirmishing. In the sprues will be available also the accessory needed to build a command group ad two set of hats. This because with each box you’ll be able to create both a Confederate or Unionist group. The price of the box is 12£ which includes also a flag kit and a small ruleset.

Mutants and Death Ray Guns

Da qualche giorno è disponibile il nuovo regolamento della Ganesha Games “Mutants and Death Ray Guns”, uno skirmish fantascientifico che strizza l’occhio ai film fantascientifici di serie B (come ben si intuisce dal titolo). L’ambientazione infatti è quella di un mondo post-atomico dove nuove razze, alieni e mutanti si affrontano per la sopravvivenza.

I meccanismi base sono gli stessi del precendente “Song of Blades and Heroes” (di cui potete leggere una mia recensione qui) ovviamente ridisegnati per il genere fantascientifico. Uno skirmish fast per un numero ridotto di miniature che comprende 5 razze base (con 40 personaggi pregenerati), regole per le mutazioni mentali e fisiche oltre alle necessarie regole per le armi ed attrezzature futuristiche ed un sistema di mini campagne. ll tutto come sempre disponibile in versione cartacea o in pdf a soli 8$.

Is out the new rulebook from Ganesha Games “Mutants and Death Ray Guns”, a scifi skirmish set with a B movie flavour (as you can get from the title). The setting is a post-holocaust world where mutants, new races and aliens fight for survival and supremacy.

The basic rules are the same of Song of Blades and Heroes” (of which you can read my review here) obviously redesigned and adapted to the scifi. A Fast Skirmish for small groups of minis with 5 races (and 40 pregenerated characters), rules for phisical and mental mutations, futuristic weapons and equipment and a small campaign system. All as usual available in printed format or in pdf for 8$.
